Feeding Directions:
Introduce Stayner Feed Service18% Calf Starter Textured (Medicated) in the first week. Feed to appetite from 0-3 months of age up to a maximum of 3 kg. From 3-6 months of age feed the amount of calf starter to ensure weight gains at 0.1% of predicted mature body weight (0.6-0.8 kg/day gain for Holsteins). Feeding at rates to encourage faster weight gains may predispose the growing heifer to accumulation of fat deposits in the developing mammary gland. This will inhibit milk production in subsequent lactations.
